Here we have an Italian made replica based on Ducatis 750 Imola that was raced by Paul Smart back in the 70s. Only 10 of these bikes were designed and built by Italian company Stile Italiano, their aim was to produce a classic looking Ducati with nostaligia from the Paul Smart / Bruno Spaggiari era, with a modern (ish) engine, suspension and tyres. According to Gianluca, owner of Stile Italiano, his design was what made Baines UK start producing a similar kit several year later.
The Frame, Forks (with showa stanchions) Hubs and Body etc were all built by Stile Italiano themselves and each bike used a Ducati 900ss Donor for the engine and wiring loom. This bike was first registered in Italy in June 2002 and was first registered in the UK in March 2004.
According to the vast amount of paperwork i have with this bike the donor engine used had approx 15000 miles on it which was then stripped, inspected to make sure all was correct and since being imported to the UK has had quite a bit of money spent on it. There is an invoice from Metal Malarkey for 1600 in 2014 where the bike had a list of service work carried out including re wiring, a new Moto Gadget speedo instead of the old Monster dash, New plug leads, replace fuel lines, etc etc.
There is an extensive file of previous receipts, old MOTs, a print out of an email correspondence between a previous owner and Gianluca (owner of Stile Italiano) discussing his ideas behind building this bike, a Dyno print out and various pictures used to advertise the bike when it was first built.
The MOT history available online indicates the mileage in 2014 was 828 Miles. The current owner purchased the bike in June 2015 and as far as i'm aware has used it very little if at all since owning it. The current mileage is approx 1500 miles although theres no way to confirm this as the Moto Gadget currently fitted has been reset due to the battery going flat.
We have already checked the bike over to make sure its running correctly and once the bike has sold we will carry out a Cambelt replacement and an oil & filter change.
